SECTION C QF HD 604. PART 3
GUIOE TQ USE OF Q.6/1 kV POWER CABLES

  1. SCQDfl

This guide to use covers the application of 0.6/1 kv power cables according to HD 604 Part 3 Section C

  1. Obiect

The object of this document is to provide recommendations for the selection, storage, transport and installation of the cables specified under Hem 1. Scope

Note: Safety requirements аге лот considered in this guide, as they art covered by the relevant regulations and laws.

кшйПи»

  1. Permissible application

Specified cables according to HD 604, Part 3 Section C may be used indoor, also in wet locations, and outdoor for fixed installations on wals and metallic structures Direct burial in toil is allowed as specified in sub-ctsuse 5.1.2.

  1. Maximum admissible voltage

Cables rated 0,6/1 kV may ba used in DC systems having a rated operating voltage between conductors not higher than 1.5 kV and between conductors and earth not higher than 0.9 kV.

4, Recommendations for storage and transport

  1. Deliver*

The cables whose normal deli very length has a weight not exceeding 50 kg are usually supplied in coils. The cables having a higher weight are supplied in drums.

The cables either in coils or in drums shall be protected in order to avoid any damage.

The inner diameter of ths coil or the diameter ot the drum core shall not be loss than twice the controlled bending radius given in sub-clause 5.4

  1. Cable-end sealing

The cable ends have to be sealed water-proof during transport, storage and laying

  1. Marking

Each coil or drum shall be marked on the outside with a durable label or inscription bearing the following indications:

. name gc trade-mark of the manufacturer.

. cable designation (construction, nominal cross section, rated voltage, etc,..| by means of harmonised symbols whenever possible reference to the HD number, whenever possible.

. actual cable length

  1. Recommendations for cabte, layinQ an djn striation

    1. General recommendatHHis

      1. Cables shea be installed and operated In such a way that their properties are not endangered.

In this connection the following pointe shall be taken into account:

la) service conditions, such аз concentration of cables insulted, influence of external heat, soli thermal resistivity, solar radiation, etc.

lb) chегпюаі and electrochemical corrosion risks

|c> movements of the soil and vibrations.

Id) potential attack by fauna and flora.

  1. J -2 When directly buried, cables without a metallic covering (screen) shall be protected by an additional mechanical shielding (slabs, cites, etc).

If the cables are provided with a metallic covering I screen), the additional shielding can be omitted.

In any case, the minimum laying depth shal be 0.5 m.

The metaNc covering (screen) is considered to be adequate under the following provisions:

fa) its longitudinal continuity e ensured throughout the cabte route.

lb) it is efficiently grounded.

(c) it is designed to withstand the fault currents, if any,

  1. When cables are laid in pipes o< ducts, the inner diameter of the pipes and ducts shaM be at least 1,4 times th* overall diameter of the cable

Note: In case of cables being laid instead of pulled in a duct this condition doos not apply.

The number, position and shape of the bends in a pipe or duct must allow an easy pulling in and out of the cable, ie. without exceeding the maximum allowed pulling force.

If it is planned to lay single tore cables of three phase systems through atwi pipes, aM cables belonging to the зате system have to pass through the same pipe.

  1. When cables are instated horizontally on wa4s or ceilings, the approximate distance between brackets shall be twenty times the overall diameter of the cable, or 2 m. whichever is the lowest.

Thia diets nee also applies between points of support of cable racks or cable trays.

  1. Miqiipum odmissfate temperature fat cable lavino

The minimum admissible temperature of cables during installation or handling is 0°C.Ряде З С-24 HD 604 S1:1994

Part 3 Section C

Б.Э Pulino toads

For pulling in of cables by means of a puritog head at the conductor the maximum value for the putting force is 50 Nfrnm* of total cross sectional area for cable» with copper conductor*

Note: Cables with al и mm rum conductor are not considered to this guide.

5.4 Bendina radius

During mstaUatJcm the bending radius measured at the toner cable generatrix shaN лот (al be to %* the values shown in the foMowtog table (where D is the overall diameter of the cables}.

SECTION D

1.

Thia section specifies requirements for and dimensions of single core and multi -core PVC insulated and sheathed cables having reduced fire propagation performance.

The maximum continuous conductor temperature shall not exceed 70*C. The maximum temperature for short-circuit conditions is 160°C.

This section covers the folowing class of cable:

  1. 2. 3 and 4 core cables having copper or a^ummium, round or sector shaped conductors and a concentric conductor

  2. Additional oeneral requirements

The foKowing general requirements shall be read in conjunction with those given in Part к

  1. Identification of cores

The cores of all cables shall be identified preferably by numbers, or alternatively by colours, in accordance with the foBowing sequence:

Number of corei

Numbers

When numbers are

used the colour ol the core shall be black. Spacing and dimensions of

numbers shal be in accordance with HD 186, clause 5- Single core cables need ng number

When colour* are used in mufti-core cables, one of the black cores, corresponding to number 1, may be provided with a white stripe. The width of this sthpe shall be as follows:

  • When thg circumference of the core is egual to or leas than 10mm the width shal ba (0.5 ± 0.11mm.

  • When the circumference of the core is bigger than 10mm the width shall be not less than 0,5mm and not more than 5% of the circumference.

22 Sobcmo during manufacture

Spicing during manufacture shall be done in such a way that all requirements in this specification regarding construcbon and testing are fulfilled.

Conductors and concentric conductors may be spliced by welding or other equivalent methods. Whole акдемгтжп conductors Of class 2 may, however only be spiked toy MKj-weiding, *HG- weldmg or an equivalent method.2.3 Cable marking
