The surface of the inner sheath shall be covered by the armour/РЕ conductor for at least 80% and the gap between the elements shall not exceed 2mm.

4* 1.3,7Л Check of construction

Compliance with the above specified requirements shal be checked by inspection and measurement. For the percentage of coverage of a braided armour/PE conductor the calculation method is given in sub-clause 2.1 '7 of HD 60S.

4.1,3.7.5 Electrical resistance

The electrical resistance of the combined armour/РЕ conductor shell not exceed the specified value for each type and sire of cable shown in the Tab)a V. VI and VII as appropriate.

Additionally, the resistance of ths ermour/PE conductor measured on a length of 20m with (he current source at one side connected to 5% of the number of elements of the braided armour or 2 adjacent steel wires of the helceMy applied armour she I not exceed 2,5% of the specified maximum vakie per km.

Compliance shall be checked by the test given In sub-clause 3.1.3,1 and 3.1 -3*2 respectively of HD 605.

41.3.7 6 Mutual interaction

There shall be no harmful interactions between the armour/РЕ conductor and the inner sheath or oversheath. Inspection after the test given in HD 505.1,2. Sub-clause 8.1.4 shall show no impairment of the armour/PE conductor.

The following ageing conductions apply: - temperature ; <100 ± 2} °С ' duration : 7 x 24h

  1. Separator

The separator, if any, shall consist of a plastic tape or an equivalent layer around the amnour/PE conductor.

  1. Qvtfahfifiih

The oversheath shaN be non-halogenated compound of Type ZH,/ST complying with iha norvelectrical requirements given in Table I. The overaheath shall be applied around the amrour/PE conductor, or a tape. If any. The thickness of the oversheath fur cables with a number of cores not exceeding five, shall comply with the specified value given in Tables V or VI.

For cables with more than five cores the specified value for the thickness of the over shea th is 1.3mm for cables with a number of cores uo to and including 40 and 2.1mm for cables with more than 40 cores.

For cables with an armour/PE conductor no limits for the mean overall diameter are prescribed.

4.1.4 Tests

  1. Separator

A separator of suitable material may be applied around each conductor. If required. tapes may be applied to comply with fire resistant requirement*.

  1. Insulation

The insulation shell be XLPE compound complying with the лол-electrical requirements given in Tabla I. The insulation thickness shall comply with th* value specified in Table Vlll.

  1. 4 Cttiour schemed the core*

The core of the single core cable shall be coloured green/yellow. For three and five core cable* the core with the largest cross-sectional area shall be coloured grten/yeltow.

  1. Assembly of cores and filler

The core* of muhteore cables shall be twisted together A centre filler may be used.

  1. Inner cover»no

The twisted cores shall be covered by an extruded inner covering consisting of unvulcanised rubber or plastic compound. It shai be ро**4Я* to separate the core* easily.

  1. Inner sheath for multicore cable

The sheath shall be non-halogenated compound of Type ZH^/ST complving with the non-electneat requirements given in Table I.

The sheath shal ba applied around the inner covering.

It shall fit closely but not adhere to the inner covering. The sheath thickness shall comply with the specified values grven in Table VIII.

  1. Screens

4.2,3 8.1 Composition

The screen shall be composed as follows:

  • a symmetrical galvanised steel wire braid;

  • a separator of non-hygroscopic material e.g. a tape or an extruded layer;

  • a symmetrical plain or tinned copper wire braid.

The screen shall be applied around the insulation of smgte-core cables and around the inner sheath of mufbeora cables.

The screen may Pt covered by a separator of non-hygroecop*c material.

The nominal diameter of the wires of (he braid shal not be less than the specified value tor each size of cable shown in Table VI11, However, each value measured shall not be less than 90% of the nominal value plus 0.03mm nor be more than 110% of the nominal value plus 0.03mm.

Compliance with Iha above mentioned requirements shaM be checked by inspection and measurement.

  1. Electrical resistance

The electrical resistance of the copper braid shall nor exceed the specified value for each size of cable shown in Tabla VW.

Compliance shall be checked by the test given in sub clausOJ Л.1 of HD 605.

  1. 2.38.4 Screening efficiency

The transfer impedance at the frequency of 30 MHz shall not exceed 1Q ohmfem.

Compliance shall be checked by the test given in EC 96-1 r sub* Clause A.5.1 and A.B-2.
