1. Concentric conductor

Th* concentric conductor, if any, shall consist of copper wires with one or two copper tapes.

Th* concentric conductor shall be applied:

  • over the separating layer of single-core cables respectively;

  • over the inner covering of muhhcore cables.

The calculated mean specs between adjacent wees shall not exceed 4.0mm wd th* maximum space between adjacent wires shall be not more than 8.0mm.

A halogen-free separating layer may be applied over the concentric conductor. The d.c. resistance of the concentric conductor shall comply with the relevant value given in HD 383.

  1. Extruded inner sheath

The extruded inner sheath shall be only applied In armoured cables.Psge б-Н-4

The extruded inner sheath shall be • halopen-free thermoelastic (HMT1 or HMT2) or halogen- free cross-linked (HMC) compound end shell comply with the requirements and tests specified in Table 1B. The colour й not specified.

The minimum wall thickness of the extruded inner sheath shall not be leu than the value specified for the insulation wal thickness of the enclosed phase conductors.

  1. Metallic armour

The armour, if any, is composed either of two lead covered steal tapes or copper tapes, helically applied In the same direction, or of one layer of flat wires, made of galvanised steel or aluminium alloy.

The thickness of the steel tapes shall be 0.15 mm minimum and the thickness of the copper tapes shal be not less than OJO mm. The Hat wires shall be minimum 1 -2 mm thick-

  1. Outer sheath

The outer sheath shall be a hak>gen-froe thermoplastic IHMT1 or HMT2I or halogen-free cross- linked (HMC) compound and shall comply with the requirement* end tests specified in Table 1B. The colour is not specified.

The sheath waN thickness shall comply with the minimum value specified kt Table в; the mean value is not specified.

4- Tests

Compiance with the requirements of clause 3 she* be checked by inspection and by the tests specified tn Tables 1 to 6.
