  1. Assembly of cores

In mufthcore cables the cores shall be cabled helically.

A tape may be applied over the cabled cores.

33 4 Inner covering

The corals) shaI be covered by an extruded inner covering.

There shall be no harmful interaction between its constituents and ths insulation and/or sheath.

Compliance with this requtroment shad be checked by the test specified in sub-clause 8.1.4 of HD 505.1.2«

3 3.4,2 Application

The extruded inner covering shall surround the core[&) and may in mufti-core cables penetrate the space between them, giving the assembly a practically circular shape. The extruded inner covering shaN not adhere to the cores.

334.3 Inner cove ri no thckness

The thickness of the inner covering shal comply with the specified values given in Table 3, column 4.

3.3.5 Non-meielic oversheath

3,35.1 Material

The sheath shall consist of an extruded halogen-free flame retarded compound applied around the covering, complying with the nonelectrical requirements given in Table IB.

3.3.5.2 AdqI cation

The sheath shall be extruded in a single layer.

The sheath shall not adhere to the inner covering. A separator consisting of a tape or a film may be placed under the sheath.

3.3. Б.З Sheath thickness

The sheath thickness shall comply with the specified values given in Table 3, column 6.

However, the thickness at any place may be less than the specified value provided that the difference does not exceed 0.1 mm * 15% of the specified value.

Compliance shall be checked by the test given In HD 21 Pan 2f sub­clause 1.10,

3.3.5.4 Additional requirements

The colour of the outer sheath shall be grey or any colour agreed upon.

3.4 Testa

Compliance with the requirements of sub-clause 3,3 shall be choked by inspection end by the tests specified In Table 1A, IB and 2.
