Розсувмм калібром (див. 5.4) або Н0им при­ладом виз^ачають довжи^у li, кожмго зразка і ре°струють її з точжстю до 0,1 мм. Вибирають відповідмй ко^рольмй стрижем з імару.

6. SAMPLING

The method of sampling shall be in accordance with the relevant part of EN 771-1. The minimum number of specimens shall be six, but a larger minimum number may be specified in the product specification, in which case that larger number shall be used.

6. PROCEDURE

   1. Preparation

Cut a specimen out of a shell from each masonry unit parallel to the perforations. The length shall be as great as possible between 150 mm to 250 mm, depending on the reference bars (5.1). The minimum width shall be 40 mm. Prepare the ends of the specimens as necessary so that the measuring device bears onto flat surfaces per­pendicular to the axis of the specimen.

Note: Special end preparation may have to be carried out on the specimens before being measured, e.g. special adhesive measurement reference pads (5.5) or depressions cut in ends of specimen as appropriate.

If the specimens have been wetted during prepa­ration then store them for 24 h at ambient temper­ature.

Refire the specimens in a kiln (5.2), maintaining a temperature rise of 50 °C/h until a temperature of 600 °C + 15 °C has been reached. Maintain this temperature for 4 h.

Allow the specimens to cool inside the kiln. When the temperature has fallen to 70°C remove the specimens and keep them in a desiccator (5.7) at ambient temperature for at least 20 h.

Determine and record the length (l_i) of each speci­men to the nearest 0,1 mm using vernier callipers (5.4) or other suitable apparatus. Choose the in­var reference bar accordingly.

їісля їовторшго виїаёу в їєчі, охолодженя до кiм^ат^ої темїератури і їодаль0оі витрим­ки (3 г) виз^ачають другий їоказ^к їо кож- нму зразку і ре°струють з^аче^^я Rо 2. Дёя кожнго зразка з точнстю до 0,01 мм розраховують і ре°струють друге відхилення Rs₂, тобто різмцю між Rо ₂ і Rin. їриклади відхилен їредставлен ^а рису^у 2.

В їротоколі виїробувашя їо кожнму зразку, який виїробову°ться, вказують середи їочат- кове відхилешя lm 1 як середи з^аче^^я ls 1 і ls₂ , округле^е до 0,01 мм.

The readings required by this sub-clause are made using the measuring frame (5.3) and to the nearest 0,01 mm.

Take and record the reading of the invar reference bar (R_in).

Take and record the first reading of each speci­men after kiln refiring and cooling to ambient tem­perature (Rо 1). Calculate and record, for each specimen, the first deviation (R_s1), i.e. the differ­ence between Rо 1 and Rin to the nearest 0,01 mm.

Take and record the second reading of each specimen after kiln refiring, cooling to ambient temperature and subsequent 3 h hold (Rо ₂). Cal­culate and record, for each specimen, the second deviation (Rs₂), i.e. the difference between Rо₂ and R_in to the nearest 0,01 mm. Examples of devi­ations are illustrated in figure 2.

For each specimen, record the initial deviation (l_m1) as the mean of (l_s1) and (l_s2) to the nearest 0,01 mm.

Зразки ^а 24 год за^урюють у киїёячy воду (див. 5.6), викёючаючи їх зіткнення з осшвою °мкості і бічмми стиками.

Зразки витягають з води і охоёоджують до кім^ат^ої темїератури.

4. Вимірюва^я третього ls3 і четвертого ls₄відхйёе^я і середа з^аче^^я остаточ­них відхйёе^ lm2

Ре°струють їоказашя, що виз^ачаються від- їовідш до цього роздіёу, із застосувашям вимірюваль^ої рами (див. 5.3) з точжстю до 0,01 мм.

Виз^ачають і ре°струють їоказашя дёя ко^- рольшго стриж^я з ивару Rin .

їісля охолоджешя (1 г), ^астуї^ого їісля обробки в киїёячій воді, виз^ачають трет° їоказашя їо кожшму зразку, що виїробову- °ться, і ре°струють з^аче^^я Rо3. Дёя кож- шго зразка з точжстю до 0,01 мм розрахо­вують і ре°струють трет° відхилення ls3 - різ- мцю між Rо 3 і Rin .

Через 24 год їісля ре°страції третього їока- зашя Rо 3 виз^ачають четверте їоказашя їо кожшму зразку, що виїробову°ться, і ре°ст- рують з^аче^^я Rо 4.

Для кожшго зразка з точжстю до 0,01 мм роз­раховують і ре°струють четверте відхилешя ls₄ - різмцю між Rо4 і Rin . їриклади відхи- ле^ їредставлеж ^а рису^у 2.

В їротоколі виїробувашя їо кожшму зразку, що виїробову°ться, вказують середа з^а- чення остаточшго відхилешя lm2 як середа з^аче^^я ls₃ та ls₄ , округле^е до 0,01 мм.

4. Boiling water treatment

Immerse the specimens in boiling water (5.6) for 24 h. The test specimens shall be supported clear of the base of the tank and shall not be in contact with the sides.

Remove the test specimens and allow them to cool at room temperature.

4. Measurement of third and fourth devia­tions (l_s3and l_s4) and mean final deviations ^(lm2⁾

The readings required by this sub clause are made using the measuring frame and to the near­est 0,01 mm.

Take and record the reading of the invar reference bar (R_in).

Take and record the third reading of each speci­men 1 h after cooling following boiling water treat­ment (Rо3). Calculate and record, for each specimen, the third deviation (l_s3), i.e. the differ­ence between Rо 3 and Rin to the nearest 0,01 mm.

Take and record the fourth reading of each speci­men (Rо3) 24 h after the third reading (Rо4).

Calculate and record, for each specimen, the fourth deviation (l_s4), i.e. the difference between Rо4 and Rin to the nearest 0,01 mm.

For each specimen, record the final deviation (l_m2) as the mean of (l_s3) and (l_s4) to the nearest 0,01 mm.

9 TEST REPORT

The test report shall contain the following informa­tion:

1. the number, title and date of issue of this Euro­pean Standard,

2. the name of the organisation that carried out the sampling and the method used;

3. the date of testing;

4. the type, origin and designation of the masonry unit by reference to EN 771-1;

5. the number of specimens in the sample;

6. the date of delivery of the specimens to the test­ing laboratory;

7. the moisture expansion e_s for each specimen expressed in mm/m, to the nearest 0,1 mm/m;

8. the mean value e_m of moisture expansion expressed in mm/m, to the nearest 0,1 mm/m;
