GUIDE TQ USE
Thia "Guide to use* is valid for the application of 0.6/1 kV cross'linkod pofyethyiene insulated and PVC- sheathed single and muiticore cables with special fae performance properties, mainly intended for use in power plants and substations.
2. ЗДІВШ
The object of this document is to provide recommendations for the «elecnon, storage, transportation and installation of the cables, specified under item 1 , Scope,
Note 1: Safety requirements as well es rule of instalatkrns are not considered in the Guide to Use,
as they are covered by the relevant regulations and laws.
Note 2: Cables in this part contain PVC, and when exposed to the effects of fire wil produce harmful
smoke and fumes. The by-products of burning scrap cable can be a health hazard. Incineration should only be undertaken by a licensed contractor.
Race
idations for use
3.1
Parmissibte applications
Specified cables according to HD 604 Part 4 Section A may be used indoors, also In wet locations, and outdoors for fixed installations on was and metalic structures. Direct burial in soil is allowed, as long as the relevant rules of installations are followed.
.2 Highest permissible voltage
Cables rated at Uo/U = 0.6/1 kV may be used in DC systems having a rated operation voltage between conductors not higher than 1,5 kV, and between conductors and earth not higher than 0.9 kV.
3 Concentric conductor
The concentric conductor may be used as neutral. PE-conductor. PEN-conductor or as a screen, in accordance with relevant regulations.
Recommendations for storam and transport
Delivery
The distance between the outer cable layer of a fiUed^up-cabte-delivery drum and the head of the flange shaM be sufficiently high to avoid damage to the cable.
2 Cable end seaHna
The cable ends have to be sealed waterproof during transport, storage and laying.
Transport
4.3 J For th? transport of filled up reels only suitable carriers shal be used.
Cable drums with Flange diameters exceeding Im have to be transported with the drum«axis in horizontal position. The drums have to be protected against movement. Loading and unloading shall be made by suitable devices to avoid damage to the cables and to the drums.
FiMtd-up cable-drums shall be rolled only on short distances over plain solid ground in the direction indicated on the cable drum. The cable ends have to be tightened.
4.3.2 Short cable lengths may be coiled to rings and transported and stored horizomaty. The permissible bending radii shall not fall short of the values given in clause 5.4.
Recommendation fgrjcable laving and installation
General recommendations
5-1.1 The cable route, the laying method and the service conditions shall be taken into account when selecting the type of cable.
5.1.2 Cables shall be laid and operated in such a way that Their properties are not endangered.
In this context the following items shad be taken into account
a; The service conditions, like concentrations of cable quantities, influence of external heat, specific earth resistance, protection against solar radiation, which form the basis for the selection of cable type,
Leakage or stray currents or corrosion.
Movements of soil, vexations [foundations of machines, bridges} and shakes.
The method of laying and the bedding material have to be selected in respect of the outer cabins heath to avoid mechanical damages.
Protection against outer influence, e,g> chemical solvents.
5.1.3 Cables shall be protected against mechanical damage occurring after installation.
Cables laid hi ground are considered as being sufficiently mechanical у protected, rf relevant regulations and laws concerning laying depth in ground end protection are followed
The laying depth in the ground shall be according to the relevant national regulations and laws.
5 14 Inner diameters of ducts and pipes have to have at least a diameter of 1 5 times the cable diameterbn the case of several cables within one pipe the diameter of the pipe has to be so wide that the cables do not block them selves.
