1. The Ki value shall meet the requirements specified in sub-clause 2.3.2.1;

  2. The thermogravimetric check, carried out as specified in sub-clause 2.5.2 of HD 605, shall not show a significant change in the material characteristics in comparison with the results obtained with unaged cable;

(cl no exudate shall be visible.

  1. Flame propagation test

The characteristics of a cable in category C1 shall be such that it meets the performance requirements of HD 405.1 and that, after having been tested in accordance with sub-clause 4.1.2 of HD 605, the two test pieces of cable shall comply with the following condition:

On visual inspection, the part of the test piece located above the top of the chimney shall show no trace of combustion.

  1. Oxygen index test

During type tests, the absolute oxygen index of samples of insulation, inner sheath (if any) and oversheath, taken from the complete cable, shall be determined using the test method given in HD 405.3 (Appendix B). The values obtained shall be used to enable a nominal value together with suitable tolerances for sample tests to be agreed between manufacturer and purchaser.

For sample tests the values of oxygen index of the insulation, inner sheath (if any) and oversheath shall be determined using the test method given in HD 405.3 (Appendix B). The values obtained shall be fall within the agreed tolerance on the nominal value.

  1. Construction

    1. Conductor

The conductors shall be of the material and type detailed in table 6 and shall comply with the requirements of HD 383 for Class 2 stranded conductors.

  1. Insulation

The insulation shall be polyvinyl chloride compound (PVC) complying with the nonelectrical requirements given in table 1 and the insulation resistance requirements given in sub-clause 2.3.2.

The insulation thickness shall comply with the values specified in table 8.

  1. Assembly protection

For cables having 2, 3 or 4 cores, the assembly protection shall consist of a filler that does not create an overthickness ('zero thickness' filler).Table 3 (Concluded)
