Natural stone test methods – Determination of geometric characteristics on units

1 Scope

This European standard describes methods for verifying the geometric characteristics of products of natural stone such as blocks, rough slabs, finished products for cladding, flooring, stairs and modular tiles. These methods are to be applied in the case of a dispute between two parties, they are not compulsory for production control, where simplified methods can be applied provided a correlation with the methods of this standard could be demonstrated.

3 Вимірювання розмірів необроблених блоків

3.1 Загальні положення

Ці методи використовуються для вимірювання розмірів брутто й розмірів нетто необроблених блоків, що відповідають вимогам попереднього стандарту prEN 1467.

3.2 Вимірювання розміру брутто необроблених блоків

3.2.1 Загальні положення

Вимірювання розмірів найменшого паралелепіпеда (Р₁), описаного навколо необробленого блока.

3 Measurement of the dimensions of rough blocks

3.1 General

These methods are to be used for the measurement of the gross dimensions and the net dimensions of rough blocks that conform with prEN 1467.

3.2 Measurement of the gross dimensions of rough blocks

3.2.1 General

Measurement of the dimensions of the smallest parallelepiped (P₁) that contains a rough block.

3.2.2 Apparatus

• A rigid rule of appropriate size graduated in 10 mm.

• Two flat metal reference straight-edges.

3.2.3 Процедура вимірювання

Обирається ортогональна система координат (осі х, y, z) (рисунок 1).

Висота z_i і довжина х_i (або ширина y_i) кожної поверхні i блока вимірюються в такий спосіб:

• перевірочні лінійки показують дві паралельні сторони найменшого прямокутника, описаного навколо поверхні блока. Виміри знімаються в площині відповідної поверхні паралелепіпеда p₁. Відстань між перевірочними лінійками вимірюється з округленням до 10 мм (рисунок 2);

• розміри брутто блока – це найменші величини x_i, у_i, і z_i, виражені в метрах.

3.3 Вимірювання розмірів нетто необроблених блоків

3.3.1 Загальні положення

Вимірювання розмірів найбільшого паралелепіпеда (Р₂), вписаного в необроблений блок.

3.2.3 Procedure of measurement

An orthogonal reference system is chosen (x, y, z) (Figure 1).

The height z_iand the length x_i (or the width y_i) of each face i of the block are measured in the following manner:

The straight-edges show the two parallel sides of the smallest rectangle containing the face of the block. Measurements are taken in the plane of the corresponding face of the parallelepiped P₁. The distance between the straight-edges is measured to the nearest 10 mm (Figure 2).

The gross dimensions of the block are the smallest value of x_i, у_i and z_i, expressed in metres.

3.3 Measurement of net dimensions of rough blocks

3.3.1 General

Measurement of the dimensions of the largest parallelepiped (P₂) that can be inscribed within a rough block.

3.3.2 Обладнання

• Жорстка лінійка відповідного розміру з поділками 10 мм.

• Дві пласкі металеві контрольні перевірочні лінійки.

3.3.3 Процедура вимірювання

Обирається ортогональна система координат (осі х, y, z) (рисунок 3).

Висота z_i і довжина х_i (або ширина y_i) кожної поверхні i блока вимірюються в такий спосіб:

• перевірочні лінійки показують дві паралельні сторони найбільшого прямокутника, вписаного в поверхню блока. Виміри знімаються в площині відповідної поверхні паралелепіпеда Р₂. Відстань між перевірочними лінійками вимірюється з округленням до 10 мм (рисунок 4);

• розміри нетто блока – це найменші величини х_i, y_i, i z_i, виражені в метрах.

4 Вимірювання розмірів необроблених плит

4.1 Загальні положення

Ці методи використовуються для вимірювання розмірів брутто й розмірів нетто необроблених плит, що відповідають вимогам попереднього стандарту prEN 1468.

4.2 Вимірювання розмірів брутто необроблених плит

4.2.1 Загальні положення

Вимірювання розмірів найменшого прямокутника, описаного навколо плити.

4.2.2 Обладнання

• Жорстка лінійка відповідного розміру з поділками 10 мм.

• Дві пласкі металеві контрольні перевірочні лінійки.

4.2.3 Процедура вимірювання

Обирається ортогональна система координат (осі х, z).

Висота z_i і довжина х_i плити вимірюються в такий спосіб:

• перевірочні лінійки показують дві паралельні сторони найменшого прямокутника, описаного навколо плити, відстань між перевірочними лінійками вимірюється з округленням до 10 мм (рисунок 5);

- розміри брутто плити необробленої – це найменші величини х_i і z_i, виражені в міліметрах.

4 Measurement of the dimensions of rough slabs

4.1 General

These methods are to be used for the measurement of the gross dimensions and net dimensions of rough slabs that conform with prEN 1468.

4.2 Measurement of the gross dimensions of rough slabs

4.2.1 General

Measurement of the dimensions of the smallest rectangle that contains a slab.

4.2.2 Apparatus

• A rigid rule of appropriate size graduated in 10 mm.

• Two flat metal reference straight-edges.

4.2.3 Procedure of measurement

An orthogonal reference system is chosen (x, z).

The height (z_i) and the length (x_i) of the slab are measured in the following manner:

- with the straight-edges show the two parallel sides of the smallest rectangle containing the slab, the distance between the straight-edges is measured to the nearest 10 mm (Figure 5);

• the gross dimensions of the rough slab are: the smallest values of х_i and z_i, expressed in millimetres.

4.3 Вимірювання розмірів нетто необроблених плит

4.3.1 Загальні положення

Вимірювання розмірів найбільшого прямокутника, вписаного в плиту.

4.3.2 Обладнання

• Жорстка лінійка відповідного розміру з поділками 10 мм.

• Дві пласкі металеві контрольні перевірочні лінійки.

4.3.3 Процедура вимірювання

Обирається ортогональна система координат (осі х, z).

Висота z_i і довжина х_i плити вимірюються в такий

спосіб:

- перевірочні лінійки показують дві паралельні сторони найбільшого прямокутника, вписаного в плиту; відстань між перевірочними лінійками вимірюється з округленням до 10 мм (рисунок 6). Розміри нетто необробленого блока – це найменші величини х_i і z_i, виражені в міліметрах.

4.3.4 Вимірювання товщини необробленої плити

4.3.1 General

4.3.2 Apparatus

• A rigid rule of appropriate size graduated in 10 mm.

4.3.3 Procedure of measurement

An orthogonal reference system is chosen (x, z).

The height (z_i) and the length (x_i) of the slab are measured in the following manner:

- with the straight-edges show the two parallel sides of the largest rectangle that can be inscribed within the slab; the distance between the straight-edges is measured to the nearest 10 mm (Figure 6). The net dimensions of the rough slab are: the smallest values of х₁ and z₁ expressed in millimetres.

4.3.4 Measurement of the thickness of a rough slab

5 Вимірювання розмірів і перевірка інших геометричних характеристик готових виробів

5.1 Загальні положення

Ці методи використовуються для вимірювання розмірів і перевірки площинності й прямокутності готових виробів, що відповідають попереднім стандартам prEN 1469, prEN 12057, prEN 12058 і prEN 12059.

5.2 Вимірювання розмірів готових виробів

5.2.1 Загальні положення

Вимірювання довжини, ширини й товщини суцільно кам'яних виробів, що мають форму паралелепіпеда.

Вимірювання довжини й ширини таких прямокутних виробів із пиляними краями: облицювальних плит, плит для підлоги й сходів і модульних плиток.

Вимірювання товщини облицювальних плит, плит для підлоги й сходів і модульних плиток, але лише в тому разі, якщо ці вироби мають шліфовану, глянцеву або поліровану поверхню. Вимірювання товщини текстурної або колотої поверхні див. в 5.3.

5 Measurement of the dimensions and verification of other geometric characteristics of finished products

5.1 General

These methods are to be used for the measurement of dimensions, and verification of flatness and squareness of finished products that conform to prEN 1469, prEN 12057, prEN 12058 and prEN 12059.

5.2 Measurement of the dimensions of finished products

5.2.1 General

Measurement of the length, width and thickness of parallelepiped elements in solid stone.

Measurement of the length and width of the following rectangular elements with sawn edges: slabs for cladding, slabs for floors and stairs and modular tiles.

Measurement of the thickness of slabs for claddings, slabs for floors and stairs and modular tiles, but only when these products have a ground, honed or polished finish. For measuring thickness in the case of a textured or riven surface finish, see clause 5.3.

5.2.2 Обладнання

- Штангенциркуль із рухомими губками, із точністю вимірювання до 1/20 мм і вимірювальним діапазоном, що принаймні дорівнює розміру виробу, який вимірюється (до 1000 мм).

5.2.3 Процедура вимірювання

• Усі виміри знімаються з округленням до 0,1 мм.

- За довжиною й шириною знімаються три виміри з кожної поверхні (рисунок 7)
