Залежно від окремого ризику ця концепція може стосуватися особи чи тільки частини його/її' тіла (наприклад, рука, палець) чи навіть речі, яку скеровано особою, та означає можливість контакту (удари, гарячі поверхні тощо) або критичні відстані (електричні удари, радіація тощо)

Надійний бар'єр вздовж краю дороги, призначений для запобігання виїзду з дороги транспортних засобів, які рухаються, та для обмеження наступного поранення людей всередині транспортних засобів і користувачів дороги чи пошкоджень
